You Can Be a Part of the Solution

Many parishes, campus ministries, and military bases in the western United States have already experienced the joy and dynamism of equipping lay people to make disciples in the world through The Evangelical Catholic’s Reach More training process. Deeply formed, zealous Catholics who bring the love of Jesus to the secular world make disciples of their children, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Many people they reach might not ever have come to a church.

The western United States needs more Catholic witnesses in its communities. Catholics are hungry for relationship with Jesus. They deeply desire to be able to bring the Good News to family, friends, and coworkers.  But many of them are prevented from sharing the love of Jesus because they don’t know how to do it effectively. By expanding the EC’s mission in the western United States, we will multiply the number of well-formed Catholic disciples of Jesus who can spread the Gospel in their circles of influence.

Transforming Lives on the West Coast:

I can think of nothing that has had greater impact, at both a parish and personal level, than the collaboration of Saint Brigid Parish with the Evangelical Catholic beginning in 2013.

Msgr. Steven Callahan

Pastor, St. Brigid Catholic Church San Diego

The Church isn’t about serving the Church. The Church is about bringing people into relationship with Jesus, and not just the people on the church property.

MaryAnne Russell

Director of Evangelization and Stewardship, St. Brigid San Diego

I’ve been involved in the parish for more than 35 years. I’ve been involved in so many programs. They capture people for a moment but there is no follow-up. When [I learned about] the Evangelical Catholic, that became a solution.

Dcn. Domingo Enriquez

Deacon and Point Person, El Centro Catholic Community

I have been involved with evangelization for 40 years and the Evangelical Catholic is the best ministry I have ever seen in the Church forming disciple makers.

Fr. John Amsberry

Pastor, St. Charles Borromeo San Diego

It’s exciting to be on this mission, helping so many lives!

Rosa Franco

Point Person, Catholic Communities of Brawley and Westmorland

People [who] have been in the parish for decades, and for the first time are feeling like they are engaged in a community that knows something about Jesus and cares about Jesus.

Dcn. Chris Hulburt

Deacon, St. Brigid San Diego

The Evangelical Catholic is offering people a voice and the confidence with which to express their faith. It’s absolutely essential.

Fr. Mark Edney

Pastor, El Centro Catholic Community

Case Study: The Imperial Valley Communities of California

The spiritual fruit in the communities of El Centro, Brawley, and Westmorland are evidence of how being equipped for mission transcends the barriers of culture and language. The Evangelical Catholic is blessed to be able to provide mission training, consulting, and shepherding resources for our Spanish-speaking partnerships.

Case Study: St. Brigid’s Parish San Diego

St. Brigid Catholic Church in Pacific Beach, CA has seen an incredible shift towards a culture of missionary discipleship during their nine-year partnership with us. We are inspired to partner with ministries who weave this essential mission of making disciples into the fabric of their community’s culture.
