
My Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
When I reflect on the image of the Sacred Heart, I realize that, at a first glance, it is not such a warm image. After all, it is a bleeding heart, punctured and surrounded by a crown of thorns.
Every relationship needs regular doses of undivided-attention-time to thrive and grow. We can nourish our relationship with God by meeting him in the sacraments, in the scriptures, and in quiet times of personal prayer.
This simple outline for prayer helps you refocus your mind and heart, setting aside the time specifically for God.
Settle yourself and turn your attention to God. Prayer isn’t a task to check off the list; it’s a relationship with the person of God who loves us and wants to talk to us. Whatever you were doing before prayer, let it go. Put the phone out of reach. Find a quiet place to be alone with the Lord.
Talk to and listen to God however you wish. Some options:
