As wonderful—or challenging—as summer can be, for many people summer is at least one thing: different. How will you tune your rule of life to be intentional about prayer, community, and mission this summer?
Every relationship needs regular doses of undivided-attention-time to thrive and grow. We can nourish our relationship with God by meeting him in the sacraments, in the scriptures, and in quiet times of personal prayer.
This simple outline for prayer helps you refocus your mind and heart, setting aside the time specifically for God.
Settle yourself and turn your attention to God. Prayer isn’t a task to check off the list; it’s a relationship with the person of God who loves us and wants to talk to us. Whatever you were doing before prayer, let it go. Put the phone out of reach. Find a quiet place to be alone with the Lord.
Talk to and listen to God however you wish. Some options:
