Tune Your Rule of Life for Summer
As wonderful—or challenging—as summer can be, for many people summer is at least one thing: different. How will you tune your rule of life to be intentional about prayer, community, and mission this summer?
Do you look out on your congregation and wonder what happens when they leave the church on Sunday? Do you drive through the neighborhoods of your community and ever wonder, “How can I possibly reach all these people?” Does it sometimes feel like it’s all up to you?
You are not alone. There are hundreds of other priests whose hearts, like yours, long to empower their congregations for more, and to reach more people with the transforming power of Jesus.
Although the practicals of making disciplemakers may not have been covered in seminary, we can help by coaching and giving you the tools to activate lay people in your community. Working together, your congregation can reach further into the neighborhoods, boardrooms, sidelines, and schools of your parish territory than you ever imagined.
We partner with Catholic parishes and campus ministries to bring transformative evangelization and discipleship training to your community.
In 2023, the Evangelical Catholic launched the Priests for an Apostolic Age conference to support mission-minded priests like you in their quest to bring the gospel to the modern world.
The conference focuses on providing spiritual rest and recharge, brotherhood among mission-minded priests, inspiration and vision for how to lead your flock with courage and authority, and practical tools to equip your parishioners for evangelization in everyday life.
The Evangelical Catholic and Catholic Leadership Institute are hosting the next Priests for an Apostolic Age conference in 2027 (more info to come!)
Can’t wait for the next Priests for an Apostolic Age conference? In the meantime, have a listen to the podcast it inspired!
Tune in for conversations between Senior Consultant Peter Andrastek, Fr. Keith O’Hare of the Diocese of Arlington, and their guests as they discuss common challenges priests face in today’s world and how to face them.

The first part of this article mentioned the redirect technique as a helpful tool for addressing thought-provoking questions that may come up during small group discussions.
As a facilitator of a small group, you play a really important role. You are the instigator of a lively, edifying, spirit-filled conversation around the most important words ever written down—God’s word in Sacred Scripture.
It’s still true that “evangelizing is in fact the grace and vocation proper to the Church, her deepest identity” (Pope Paul VI). Yet, in a fast-paced and changing world, we can be tempted to fall back on old (and broken) approaches. What does it take to help your parish or campus ministry face the future and become an apostolic church, ready to transform the world?
