Why a revision?
- To strengthen the setup for lifelong missionary discipleship with a personalized plan for ongoing prayer, community, and mission.
- To more sufficiently address the “establish disciples” habit of mission at the top of the Evangelization Pyramid.
- To offer a clearer call and options for living a personal mission (apostolate), beyond merely starting a small group.
What is changing?
- Completely new sessions 9, 10, and 11
- Significant changes to session 12
- Small revisions to sessions 1-8 and one-on-one conversations 5-6
- New teaching on the importance of intentional Christian community in the lives of all disciples
- New teaching on how and why to establish others in foundational discipleship practices
- A new three-week exercise of developing a personal plan (rule of life) for prayer, community, and mission to live out after mission training
- A new introduction to the prayer companion
- New appendix: Small Group Toolbox
- New appendix: Glossary of Terms
Will I still be able to use up my old workbooks?
- Yes! If you want to use the old videos (sessions 9-12) along with your old workbooks, the videos will be available online in your Reach More account until February 1, 2026.
- If you want to run the new sessions 9-12 but still use up old workbooks, you can simply download and print PDFs of the new workbook pages for sessions 9-12.
What is happening to the existing small group leader training materials?
- The new session 10 still includes some of our best tips for facilitating group conversations, along with new advice for creating deep, vulnerable community around God’s Word.
- Relevant small group facilitation videos and worksheets from the old version will remain available to Reach More Mission Training participants.
- Existing small group facilitation training videos and worksheets will also be reconfigured as a standalone workshop for ministries to use as desired.
