So, I’m going to reflect on just that: my own poverty. And what a perfect time Lent is to experience and reflect on our own spiritual poverty.

Seek the Lord in the Bible Every Day… Seriously!

Mark Rose wrote in our last EC blog entry about how we hunger for connection to people and to God. I know that I hunger for a lot of things, especially affirmation and security. We experience a constant state of need until we see God face to face.

Catholic Small Groups Are Critical – But They’re Not the Answer

Don’t get me wrong: small groups have their place. I personally know many students who have experienced radical conversion of heart, mind and soul through attending small groups. Their faith stories/testimonies of Jesus’s love “becoming real” in their lives are powerful, a witness to trust more in our Lord and Savior.

Because of the media’s widespread coverage of these anecdotes, my Protestant friends know almost as much about our new pope’s activities as most faithful Catholics.

The Great Commission

I am not against theological and apologetic formation – both are tremendously important; rather, I am saying that Jesus wanted our formation to include so much more.
